Online pre-recorded lectures on theoretical principles

Onsite interactive hands-on live session in room Lehar 4, at VIECON, Vienna: Saturday, 27 September, at 8:30-17:00 CEST

Objectives

  • Understand Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV) Principles: Gain a thorough understanding of the fundamental principles and mechanics of various NIV modalities, including PSV, Bi-Level, and CPAP.
  • Apply NIV in Clinical Scenarios: Develop the ability to apply NIV techniques in diverse clinical scenarios such as acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema (ACPE), pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), restrictive conditions (obesity and neuromuscular), and COVID-19.
  • Evaluate and Monitor NIV Therapy: Learn to evaluate the effectiveness of NIV therapy and adjust settings accordingly to optimize patient outcomes. This includes monitoring patient responses and making real-time adjustments.
  • Select Appropriate Equipment: Acquire the skills to select the most suitable NIV equipment and interfaces based on patient-specific needs and clinical conditions.
  • Manage Complications and Troubleshooting: Develop strategies to manage potential complications associated with NIV and troubleshoot common issues to ensure safe and effective therapy.
  • Implement Evidence-Based Practices: Integrate evidence-based practices into clinical decision-making to improve the quality of care in patients requiring NIV.
  • Enhance Clinical Decision-Making: Improve clinical decision-making skills through case-based learning and hands-on practice, enhancing the ability to make informed decisions in critical situations.
