Emergency Airway Management including Mechanical Ventilation
This one-day pre-course will run in two parts on Saturday 12 October from 08:30 to 18:00 CET
Venue: Bella center, Copenhagen, Denmark
Emergency Airway Management: 08:30-13:00 CET
Course overview
Emergency Airway Management is a life saving procedure in the emergency department. Emergency Physicians need to be able to apply the skills that are necessary to save the airway in different and difficult situations.
The objectives are to give an overview about the theoretical background of the current state of the art and to practice different skills at different stations to get confident or to strengthen the confidence in terms of emergency airway management.

After the course, participants will be able to facilitate the use of mechanical ventilation in their daily practice and strengthen their critically ill patient management by understanding respiratory dynamics.
Learning objectives
Following completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify the need and initiate invasive mechanical ventilation.
- Learn the equipment for mechanical ventilation.
- Learn commonly used the modes of mechanical ventilation.
- Assess and monitor mechanical ventilator settings.
