Procedural Sedation and Analgesia in Paediatric Emergency Care

Format

This pre-course is offered in a live half-day format on
Sunday 16 October, 8:30 – 15:00 cest at the Congress center in Berlin.

Objectives

To provide emergency physicians with the information necessary for safe sedation practice in paediatric emergency setting

Overview

The workshop focuses on providing physicians with theoretical knowledge and effective strategies to identify and treat sedation adverse events. The workshop includes a morning session and an afternoon session. The morning session is a formal tutorial starting with an interactive discussion on identification of sedation adverse events and intervention techniques. Simulation training is provided in the afternoon, in three sessions; two scenarios with the use of high-fidelity patient simulators, and one scenario with a human patient simulator (actress).
