Regional Anaesthesia for Emergency Physicians
Format
The use of ultrasound-guided nerve blocks has become a fundamental skill for emergency physicians. In fact, a growing number of patients benefit from the use of these approaches for pain control, with a variety of indications that range from thoracic trauma to hip fractures, up to the management of arrhythmic storm during cardiac arrest.
This precourse will be offered in a hybrid format combined of:
- webinar on Wednesday 24 September at 8:30-12:00 CEST; and
- live half-day hands-on at VIECON, Vienna on Saturday, 27 September at either: 8:15 – 12:45 CEST or 13:45-18:15 CEST
Objectives
- To provide emergency physicians with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to integrate nerve blocks safely and effectively in their clinical practice.
- To provide emergency physicians with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to integrate nerve blocks safely and effectively in their clinical practice.
- To acquire the main technical and non-technical skills for regional anaesthesia practice, through different hands-on simulation-based stations.
